Millions of tons of food are destroyed in Germany every year, although much of it is still usable and edible. Our organization is trying to bridge the gap between this abundance of food and the existing food insecurity in our society.
We are supported by regional and national partners, local traders and regional growers, large retail chains and, of course, every single citizen who supplies us with goods.
They all provide us with food that can no longer be sold in stores or is no longer consumed at home. For us, this commitment is a question of the responsibility we have as a society towards the socially disadvantaged.
About the Engagement
Some family members have been volunteering for the Starnberger Tafel e.V. for years. We are delighted not only to support the association on a voluntary basis, but also to be able to help with the procurement of material resources.
