The responsible use of our resources, nature, and the environment is more important today than ever.
We know about the man-made ecological crisis, and there is an awareness that it is not possible to continue like this.
It’s time to stop looking at your cell phone screens and instead go outside and look at nature. Instead of watching a nature documentary on TV, go outside, meet other people, exchange ideas, and put your hands in the dirt.
Experience the forest or the orchard as the largest adventure playground and make the complexity of the world tangible.
That is why we are pleased that the Dr. Otto and Margarete Graber Foundation has launched the “WunderNatur” project.
People of different ages, regardless of their socio-cultural background, can come together to gain knowledge about nature and all its facets.
There are various activities at different times of the year. Depending on the topic, subject-specific speakers are consulted and the knowledge learned can be implemented on the spot.
Participation in the workshops or lectures is free of charge.
Dates:
April 6, 2025, 10 a.m.: From 2 to 1 – How does an apple tree originate?
You want to create your own apple tree and take it home with you? Then you’ve come to the right place!
Hardly anyone knows that fruit trees must be grafted to preserve the variety. There are different techniques that can be used to achieve this. And that’s exactly what we do in the workshop.
Who can participate: Anyone and everyone who is interested. Children are welcome when accompanied by their parents.
April 13, 2025, 10 a.m.: What’s buzzing there? Construction of an insect hotel.
During this workshop, we will construct a large insect hotel while gaining knowledge of a wide variety of insect species and their importance for the environment. We learn which specific materials are needed and what to look out for during the construction. With a bit of luck, interested future “residents” might show up during the construction to see what the buzz is all about.
Who can participate: Anyone and everyone who is interested. Families are welcome.
